The New York Times kindly posted an review of John Williams’ New York Concert in Zankel Hall. If you’re wondering what Williams is up to on his US tour this season, check out the article. For more tour dates, check out his website.

Kevin Gallagher posted an excellent article about The Inner Ear. The article explains some ideas about visualization/audiation of pieces and how it’s an important tool in the guitarist’s toolbox.

Over at Dial “M” for Musicology, Jonathan Bellman wrote a great article about some familiar thinking about the arts. Jonathan rightly calls bullshit on these common ideas and lays it out clear and simple.

A post went up this week at Contrapuntist about How to Choose a Music School with some very practical advice. A lot of the article is about things that not many people factor into the decision.
